Alzheimer's disease impacts lives in a multitude of ways. From the methodical erase of life's memories to the enfeeblement of a loved ones personality. From the financial burdens of healthcare, to the overwhelming stress of a loving caregiver, the journey can be an arduous one.
Alzheimer's disease is a real life David and Goliath story in the making.
My name is David and I have watched my mother fight this Goliath of a disease (as did her mother). With my father at her side maintaining her grace, dignity, and spirit, I can't stop thinking of wanting to do more. My mother used to say to me when confronted with a struggle, "You can do it, and I can help".
Now in the end stage of Alzheimer's my mother is still helping me and inspiring me to do more.
If we all become Davids, this Goliath will fall!
