Another great running challenge is in the books. The 12 Runs of Christmas provided more than 40 runners something (more) to run for this holiday season.
Amazingly, four different runners ran each of the 12 distances earning the maximum amount of 234 points, which means this challenge came down to straight mileage for the winner. MEAN GUY members Bill Kelley (306.1 pts), Gary Rooney (315.8), and Ken Culbertson (328.5) all put great efforts, but non-member Shannon Costa topped the gentlemen with a total of 333.1 points.
The average points were 168.45. There were three runners within 10 points, non-member Amy Winters (163 pts), member Rob McMurray (161.96) and the closest to the average winner, MEAN GUY running member Beth Donges.
Congratulations to BOTH winners, Shannon Costa and Beth Donges. Please email [email protected] with your preference of running store for your gift card.

The 12 Runs of Christmas will start on 12/1 and run through 12/25, ending at 11:59 pm.
It will consist of 12 different length runs that will be worth different values. The runner with the most points+miles & closest to the average, will win! MEAN GUY running members will win $75 while non members will win $50. (Incentive to join MGr?)
The 12 different lengths are:
1 mile = 24 pts
2 miles = 22
2.5 miles = 20
3 miles = 18
3.5 miles = 16
4 miles = 14
4.5 miles = 15
5 miles = 17
5.5 miles = 19
6 miles = 21
8 miles = 23
10 miles = 25
To clarify, once you have claimed one of the lengths, you will not earn points for that specific length again, but you will earn the mileage. For example, if you run 1 mile two different times, you will earn 24 + 1 mile + 1 mile, totaling 26 points (Any questions please let me know.)

As always, the cost is $5 to enter or FREE if you’re a MEAN GUY running member.
