The New Way to Log Your Miles

As a math freak, I’ve logged my running miles in a variety of ways.

First was Nike+ combined with Daily Mile. After I stopped using the Nike+, I logged my mileage on a Google Doc and Daily Mile. Then I got a Garmin watch that came with Garmin Connect, an automatic uploading service that logs your mileage as well as your route. This connected with Daily Mile is what I currently use.

Using any of these will serve as a great motivational tool to challenge yourself.

However, if you’re like me, you like to quickly see your running totals in comparison to other people’s totals, similar to that of The 12 Runs of Christmas spreadsheet.

I haven’t found anything out there that does this so…

…as a pilot/trial run, I am creating an editable spreadsheet that you can update your 2013 miles to compare to other runners. In order to do this, you will need to know the direct web address, as it is not fully public information.

I only ask that you are honest, as there are NO prizes given (yet) to anyone on this list. It is acting merely as a motivational tool for those that appreciate and enjoy seeing results.

I will continue to tweak and make changes as the year progresses. Feel free to share the site with friends.

Please comment with any suggestions.
